
GAVIN WELSH
Co-founding Transformed Works in Europe in 2023, Gavin brings his entrepreneurial spirit to leading this Business Development hub, focused particularly on Marketing, Sales, back-end Tech Operations, and Client Relations.
He is taking his years of experience in the fields of Online Education (he founded a progressive web app called Ask Archie in 2010 – a Maths an Science Revision product) and Branded Merchandising, to now bringing a Circular Economy award-winning drinksware product ‘Circular & Co’ to the South African market in 2024. He launched a Safety Footwear startup into the UK and Europe in 2020.


JILL WELSH
Jill began her career in television in 1999 after studying the Arts at the University of Cape Town. She has collaborated with global Media and Production companies in Below-the-Line Communications, Story Development, Scriptwriting and Insert Production of Television shows and Documentaries. Her passion for storytelling has taken her across South Africa, Ireland and Cornwall creating youthful and travel focused programmes for MNET, SABC, National Geographic, Netflix and Insight TV.
Jill has also worked in Corporate Communications for blue chip clients such as Woolworths, Old Mutual and Sanlam collaborating on making memorable in-house training video content. Jill is also the author of two Children’s books.


DEWALD HUGO
As a seasoned and versatile Senior Backend Developer at Transformed Works, Dewald plays a pivotal role in architecting, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power our digital solutions. With a deep understanding of modern frameworks and a passion for clean, efficient code, he consistently delivers reliable, high-performing applications that align with our commitment to transformation through technology.
Dewald brings extensive experience across multiple frameworks, databases, and cloud environments, combining technical mastery with a proactive, growth-focused mindset. His ability to collaborate across teams and implement robust backend infrastructures makes him an integral part of our engineering force.


STEPHEN PAPALE
A South African serial entrepreneur, Stephen has a passion for minimalism and esoteric philosophies. He owns and invests in various and interesting businesses across industries, from property development to early childhood development, restaurants, e-commerce and drop-shipping. After finishing school in Johannesburg, Stephen achieved two Honours degrees in Economics and Psychology at the University of Cape Town.
Stephen contributes a diverse range of expertise to Transformed Works, as Chief of Strategy and Financial Director, and works across multiple channels within the business. His secret weapon is not being afraid to experiment and have fun with commerce.
